I'm sorry, It's just not working out. Maybe it's the cat videos, maybe Farhad's recent resignation, maybe I have too much on my plate. I'm leaving. I'm going Videocu.lt full-time now. My sift-will leaves my avatar and responsibility to downvote cat videos to ObsidianFire, my Power Points to schmawy, and my videos to Siftbot. Give the Fighting Robots one to my dad, as it was his idea. If I had to pinpoint the beginning of the Death of the Sift, it would probably be between LadyDeath joining, and Zonbie's 100-gold star. This is the end, and I'm jumping ship with the rats.

Yeah, but what can one person do if his favourite website is being eaten away from the inside by fucking cats? Downvoting has no effect. It's what the sifting public wants, and one more downvote isn't going to change that. I can more or less count the people against cat videos (that I'm aware of) on one hand. Me, MINK (I think), ObsidianFire, and Farhad. Sorry schmawy.

I have a feeling many people from the sift are going to dip their toes in videocu.lt. Personally, I feel that it doesn't hold a candle to videosift, but that's just me. You're welcome to come crawling back when you feel like.
Communities like these aren't monogamous as such, you can do both if you want. Hell, every single poster on videocu.lt right now is subjugated from videosift anyway, so right now cu.lt works by snapping of parts of this community. I suppose this happens when a community gets too large.

One last comment: I think I may have been misunderstood. I don't want to spark a rivalry, I just feel that Videocu.lt is better for me. Less complicated, my kind of sifters, etc. It's not just the cat videos, it's kind of a train wreck of things happening to me that takes up so much time , I can't find any time to post things I want. When I found myself not looking to what you want to post, but what others will like I think my control slipped from me quite a bit. Things I like are no longer getting sifted, needing 3 or even 4 begs just to make it out, and peaking at 20 votes. And in the real-o-sphere my band is actually starting recording so my time is going to shrink even more. I didn't mean for my exit to sound so dramatized as it turned out. Think of this as a hiatus.

For the record, I don't know why randomize declares LadyDeath and Zonbie to be "the beginning of the Death of the Sift" unless maybe he's making an ill-conceived pun, but those two are a couple of the greatest members/contributors around and such a comment is completely unjustified as far as I'm concerned (especially since he apparently refuses to elaborate).
You won't find me over there... urgh.
Everyone just being either sensitive or too nice. Thousands of visitors come and go in Videosift or go inactive. But they don't go about announcing such mundane thing and create a stir.
Normally randomize is pleasant. But I did notice that some of his comments that he gave for his downvoting habits were unreasonable and bit stubborn.
And fellow videosifters here are making big deal out of absolutely nothing. If he's leaving, then he's leaving. His complaints are to his own, which all aren't that big of a problem, and already have solutions to.
BOTTOM LINE: If he doesn't want to make the effort to customize his settings, boo hoo. Cut the umbilical cord, Ma.
