I use Firefox, and they have an extension called Video DownloadHelper. It's pretty simple to use. Give it a try!

Out of curiosty, what do you use to download youtube videos? I was interested in repeating you trick for some videos without embed codes.

I downloaded it and then uploaded it to Dailymotion. I'm unaware of any website that will do that for you.
